Each year, the Welcoming Rhode Island initiative and Providence College’s Global Studies program collaborate on a storytelling project called, “My Story, Our Community,” where Global Studies students are paired with community members who share their stories of immigrating to the United States and, more specifically, Rhode Island.
Storytelling is an integral piece of Welcoming Rhode Island’s overall mission to share stories that highlight the important role immigration plays in the success of our state and why we continue to advocate for the creation of the most welcoming and inclusive communities possible.
